Ninety One Brisbane 26T Review

Namaste dosto! Today, we are reviewing a cycle from a brand that has quickly become a household name in India for cycling enthusiasts—Ninety One (91)

If you’ve ever walked into a premium cycle store, you’ve definitely seen their bikes. But today, we are talking about their affordable electric warrior: the Ninety One Brisbane 26T (7.8 Ah).

Priced at a very competitive MRP of ₹29,999, the Brisbane 26T is aimed at students, office-goers, and anyone who wants to switch to green mobility without selling a kidney!

It’s built for the "Aam Aadmi" who wants the cool factor of an e-bike but doesn't want to deal with RTO paperwork.

Na license chahiye, na registration! (Neither license nor registration is needed!). But is it just a regular cycle with a motor slapped on, or is it a well-engineered machine? Chaliye, detail mein dekhte hain!

A silver and red Ninety One Brisbane 26T electric mountain bike with a 7.8Ah detachable battery, front suspension, and 250W motor, perfect for city commutes.

Design and Build: Lightweight yet Mazboot (Strong)

The first thing you’ll notice about the Brisbane 26T is its sleek and sporty look. It comes in a very eye-catching Silver Red color scheme with premium water transfer decals.

It doesn’t look "cheap" at all. In fact, it looks like a high-end mountain bike (MTB).

The frame is a 17-inch Hi-Tensile Steel Frame which is robotic TIG welded for maximum strength.

Now, some might say, "Steel hai toh bhari hogi" (It's steel, so it must be heavy), but Ninety One has managed to keep the weight very balanced.

It feels sturdy enough to handle khadda-filled Indian roads (pothole-ridden roads) but light enough to pedal manually if you want a workout.

The 26-inch wheels are the perfect size for most Indian adults and teenagers (ideally for heights between 5'4" to 6').

Performance: Zipping through Traffic

The Brisbane 26T is powered by a High-Power 36V 250W BLDC Motor. This motor is IP65 water-resistant, which is a big relief for us in India because, baarishtoh kabhi bhi aa sakti hai! (Rain can come anytime!).

Driving Modes: This cycle gives you four different ways to ride:

  • Full Throttle: Just twist the half-twist throttle and the bike moves up to 25 km/h. No effort needed!
  • Auto Pedal Assist (PAS): The motor senses your pedaling and gives you a boost. It makes you feel like you have extra power in your legs.
  • Cruise Mode: Keeps the bike at a steady speed.
  • Normal Pedal Mode: Use it like a standard single-speed cycle for exercise.

Battery and Range: Ideal for Daily "Aana-Jaana"

The heart of this e-bike is a 7.8Ah Detachable Li-ion Battery. The "detachable" part is very important for people living in flats.

Battery nikalo, ghar le jao, aur charge kar lo! (Take out the battery, take it home, and charge it!).

  • Range: You get a range of 25 km+ on full throttle and around 40 km+ on pedal assist.
  • Charging: It takes about 4 to 5 hours for a full charge. If you charge it at night, it’s ready for your office or college run the next morning.

For an average city commute of 5-10 km, this range is perfect. You can go to your office, come back, and still have some juice left for a quick grocery run in the evening. Sasta aur tikau! (Cheap and durable!).

Safety and Comfort: No Compromise

Even though it's a budget model, Ninety One hasn't skipped on safety features:

  • Mechanical Disc Brakes: You get 160mm disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. This is much better than the old-school V-brakes, especially in wet conditions.
  • Tuff Shox Suspension: The front suspension fork does a great job of absorbing shocks from speed breakers and uneven roads. Your kamar (back) will thank you for this!
  • E-Brakes: The brake levers come with an automatic cut-off. As soon as you press the brake, the motor power is cut instantly—this is a life-saving feature in panic situations.
  • Key Lock: The cycle powers on only with a key. Chori ka darr thoda kam ho jata hai (Fear of theft is reduced).

Maintenance and Warranty

Ninety One provides a very decent warranty package, which shows their confidence in the product:

  • 2 Years on the Battery Pack.
  • 1 Year on the Motor.
  • 5 Years on the Frame.
With over 600+ service centers across India, getting it fixed won't be a "sar-dard" (headache).

Comparison: Brisbane 26T vs Competition

How does it stand against others like Hero Lectro or local brands?

The Brisbane 26T clearly offers more battery capacity than the entry-level Hero Lectro models at a lower price point. Boss, yeh toh win-win deal hai!

Final Verdict: Should You Buy the Brisbane 26T?

The Ninety One Brisbane 26T is for the smart Indian commuter who wants a "branded" experience on a budget.

It's perfect for students going to tuition, office goers who want to avoid sweat, and fitness lovers who sometimes want a "free ride" back home.

Pros:

  • Excellent Brand Value (Ninety One is trusted).
  • Detachable battery is very convenient.
  • Front suspension makes it comfortable.
  • Dual disc brakes for safety.
  • Affordable price point (under ₹30k).

  • Steel frame is slightly heavier than alloy frames.
